Word, Excel and PowerPoint files quietly keep who wrote them, deleted text, comments, hidden sheets and local file paths. Open a file to see what it's hiding, then remove it. The file never leaves your device.

This removes the common places hidden data lives, then re-scans the result so you can see what is left. It can't catch everything, such as personal details typed into the visible text, or data in formats it doesn't read. Always open the cleaned file and check it before you send it. Deleting hidden sheets can turn formulas that referenced them into errors. Older formats (.doc, .xls, .ppt) aren't supported.
